DAY 29

Sunday, May 29th 2005

I woke up today and spent a couple of hours updating my lap top journal. After that I headed to the Zaanse Schans Open Air Museum. Pictures follow, but if you do this trip and have to choose between the Arnhem Open Air Museum and this one, choose the Arnhem one. This was cute, but a tourist trap. If your only tripping through The Netherlands then by all means go to this one. You'll be done in 15 minutes and it will show you Dutch historical life served up in a nice little compact area, as Rick Steves says, a lazy Susan, but if you want quality and not commercialism go to the one in Arnhem.

Open Air Museum

After a salami pizza back at Haarlem, I stopped by the local coffeehouse and used their,,, um,,, internet for a bit. I then called it an early day and slowly unwound while listening to Louis Armstrong, alone and unplugged, in the best sense possible. The living is easy, here, in Haarlem. :-)
