DAY 40

Thursday JUNE 09 2005

Today I woke up at the Woodstock Hostel and promptly moved back to Hotel Tulipe.

Other than that, I just had a laid back, sunny, day having a two hour lunch and doing laundry. So there is nothing to report, sorry to disappoint.

Although...

I was doing laundry, reading a book while sitting in the sun by the window. Two of the Laundromat's walls are made of glass.  A pigeon flew in.

It swooped over my head, brushing my hair with its wing tip, with me letting out a shriek, it flew right into the glass wall only to go ka-thunk, then wheel around and fly right into the opposite glass wall, too! The bird slid down the window to land on the floor. It hopped up onto its two little feet and stood there for a moment dazed and confused and then slowly walked out the door. I looked at the French woman sitting next to me and she looked at me and we just started cracking up.

That's it for today, have a good night.

Shakespeare and Company. A full English bookstore. I ended up spending 45 euros here in preparation for my 14 hour bus ride.

The lively Latin quarter!

Jazz anyone?

Paris, the ugly and the beautiful.
