DAY 42 Saturday JUNE 11 2005 Part three I know that these three parts of day 42 are told slightly out of order. Sorry, but I should tell you what I did before I started my transit to Prague. Today is Friday and my transit day, but before I leave on the Euro lines bus to the Czech Republic I go to visit Monet's garden. Here are a very few of the pictures I took. If you ever want to go there, go with Fat Tire bike tours from Paris. It is worth it! I didn't because they would have gotten back to late and I would have missed my bus to Prague. I did, however, sit down with the tour leader for quite some time to get the low down on what I should do. I then ignored all he said to me as I ended up only having 59 minutes to enjoy Monet's garden due to tight train schedule times. So go with Fat Tire and don't do what I did, don't wait till your last day in Paris to do this. It is worth so much more than 59 minutes. Do be warned though, you can't tell from the pictures, but the place is crawling with people. Like ants in an ant hill. Be prepared for that mentally. When I got of the train with a whole bunch of other people we all went to the city bus which will take us to Monet's garden for three euros. I soon realized that there were two city bus loads of people getting on with me. That's a lot of people. Hell, I will take the line with me where ever I go. So to beat the crowds I spent 21 euros round trip on a taxi. Outrageous price I know, but it was worth it. I did beat the crowds by doing it that way and immediately got into the gardens and when I came out all those people were waiting in line. They hadn't even started yet and I was finishing. Needless to say I felt pretty proud of myself.
The horde.
I had to throw this picture in. It was the last time I would see Paris and what does this say? Simulated climax. Mmm... :-) |
