DAY 50

Sunday JUNE 19 2005

Today we woke up and boarded the bus for Slovakia. It proved to be a long, long drive with lots of fun things to do along the way. I want to mention here that out of all the eastern block countries this is the only one that offered wi-fi in the hotel room for free. Very interesting as they are so behind the rest of western Europe. It was surprising.

We went rafting, having a great time, and had a picnic lunch. I write this now from a cute little village in the country side of beautiful, undiscovered Slovakia.

Beautiful countryside.

Notice the dishes?

Slovakia.

Busy day for rafting. You can't see it in this picture but to the right is a bike trail that runs all along the river. I was very envious of the bicyclists I saw.

Taxi anyone?

We also saw some very lovely churches.

This is at the small village where I am staying for the night.

They had the coolest old fashioned motorcycles. I missed getting the picture of the one with the machine gun attached with live bullets. Straight from the war.

Having a good time in Slovakia.

The view outside my bedroom window. Who new that Slovakia would be so beautiful?
