We arrived at Lake Bled late last night, so this will be my first official day here and I can already see this will be the best place of all! Exquisite is the world that comes to mind.
This is a picture of our fabulous hotel! It is filled with roaring 20's ambiance and old world elegance. I got a room facing the lake with a deep inset stone balcony covered in vines. The balcony turned out to be my favorite hang out place to just relax and listen to some Kenny G and Louis Armstrong while looking at this astounding view:

We took a boat ride out to the island this morning. Slovenia's only island. Here is a picture of one of the boats. As we were boating out there a swan flew by off the bow. The lake is so beautiful, I could move here. The water is so clear I could see the fish and the air is so pure. I haven't smelled such pure air since leaving Alaska. This place is lovely, picturesque, scenic, delightful, charming, wonderful, exquisite, superb, and magnificent!
Did I mention that I really like this place? :-)
Once we got to the island, we pulled the tower bell while making a wish and, supposedly, if you come back to the same place a second time it will come true. Humph, now that's marketing. I look pretty ecstatic here as that was a very hard rope to pull! It took many of us girls three or four tries.

My days are filled with exploration, laughter, and music! And this was even before lunch! :-)
