DAY 60

Wednesday June 29 2005

Transit day.

I got up early this morning and taxied to the airport to fly out on Easy Jet today to Berlin. I have no hotel reservations for tonight. I figured I will have two hours at the airport. I will make calls there to set up my nights for the next few days.

Ah, I forgot, I am still in Eastern Europe! It ended up that there were no phones at the gates. How can an entire section of airport not have a phone?

I sat with Charlie and he, ever so kindly, gave me lessons on logistics. Damn, I sure need it. He was very informative and I will make many changes in the way I travel the next time I do it. One thing is for sure, Lake Bled made the coming years of working two jobs totally worth it all!

I have learned a lot of things and the only things I regret is that it is over and I am not only broke, but in a lot of debt.

Nevertheless, I truly believe it was worth it. All the hard work in the past and all the hard work to come in the future. I have had the vacation of a lifetime.

Not all the times were good, there were times when I felt like I was drowning in a sea of loneliness and there was no but me to rescue myself (Prince Charming is dead, dear).

Not all the times were bad, there were times when I felt so content and happy and at peace with myself and the world.

Life is good!

I made it to Berlin and within ten minutes of disembarking off the plane I found phone cards, train tickets, an atm, and a city map. I also found phones! LOL! I laughed so hard when I actually found phones! God, it's good to be back in the EU.

Within 60 minutes I had my reservations made out for the rest of the week and was sitting in my pension room sleeping.

Life is good!

When I woke up I took a walk around Berlin and just soaked up the vitality and ambience of this amazing city.

Good night!
