Here is a list of my favorite links. . ENJOY! :)

BICYCLE TOURING 101 A online cycling publication information site that has really filled a niche in the cycling community and is getting quite popular. Quite enjoyable. Check out some of the articles that I have written for them!

CYCLING THE WORLD This is a very comprehensive web site that is professionally done. This site was very helpful for creating my own cycling trip.

MARK-JU This is one of my favorites. This site is about a couple that took two years to bike from England to Australia, or as close as time allowed.

FREEWHEEELERS This is a couple that also took two years off to cycle the world. Careful they have stupid pop-ups.

THORN TREE LONELY PLANET This was great reading material to hold me over till my own trip began.

Excellent videos by Erik Trinidad called:

"WOULD YOU?".

"DAY 503"

"ELSEWHERE"

Daniel's very thoughtfully laid out journals of his year and more abroad backpacking. He has 3 journals, each containing a portion of his trip.

JOURNAL ONE

JOURNAL TWO

JOURNAL THREE

BICYCLE GERMANY The title says it all.

TOURING THE NETHERLANDS The title says it all.

INTREPID HEROINES is about two girls who bicycled across the U.S.A.

RICK STEVES EUROPE THROUGH THE BACK DOOR This is the Seattle based company that I took my first tour to Paris with and they were AWESOME. I would choose this tour company over all others. As a matter of fact, my second tour of Europe was also through

this company.

BOB LUCKY'S web site was really instrumental in relieving the worry that YES I can bicycle from Schiphol Airport to Haarlem. Haarlem is a small city outside of Amsterdam.

R&E CYCLES This is the bicycle I am researching and thinking of buying.

BICYCLE HELMET This is the best helmet I have ever seen. I can get a 360 degree view without turning my neck. Totally worth every dollar! :)

BICYCLE BACKPACK CASE This is what I am thinking about using instead of the hard case that comes with the bike.

My favorite books are by the authors...

Note: Don't let the publishing dates on these books fool you. They are the kind of good travelogues that no matter how much time passes by are still worth reading.

Barbara Savage:

"Miles From No Where" A very honest, forthright,

inspiring cycle touring book.

Lin and Larry Pardey's books called:

Cruising in Seraffyn

Seraffyn's Mediterranean Adventure

Seraffyn's European Adventure

Seraffyn's Oriental Adventure

All of the Pardey's books are about traveling by sail boat.
