My route has been developing over the last year and a half. It is still developing as you read. So far, I am going to try to travel eight or nine countries for as long as I hold out and my budget holds out.
Keep in mind the more frugal I am on the trip the longer I can stay out. It would be nice to be gone a year and do the whole world, but reality strikes again! :-)
